This week has been a non-stop rain fest! It feels like the sky has opened up and just won’t stop pouring. Since venturing outside wasn’t really an option, so a trip to the mall seemed like the most logical choice. While malls aren’t typically known for their excitement factor, sometimes you have to make the best of a rainy situation.
Central Phuket started its journey as Central Festival in 2008, quickly becoming a popular hangout for locals and tourists. In 2018, it underwent a significant expansion with the addition of Central Floresta. Together, they house over 500 shops!
From international high-street favorites like H&M and Uniqlo to local Thai designer boutiques, shoppers can easily lose track of time (and money!) exploring the diverse retail landscape. The two wings offer a vast and an immersive shopping experience.
A noticeable makeover had been done on the first floor. There were so many new bakeries and cafes opened near the entrance of the mall. Honestly its a haven for anyone with a sweet tooth! There was one store (‘The After You Cafe’) that even had a queue forming waiting to get in which offered Bingsu ice cream.
Central Phuket is more than just a mall, it’s more like a vibrant community hub. Throughout the year, Central hosts a variety of events and activities, from fashion shows and live music performances to cultural exhibitions. It’s also a popular spot for locals to socialize and relax, thanks to its numerous cafes, restaurants and green spaces.
